Expected to go on sale by mid-2024, this will be the first bike in the world to use CNG as a fuel; Test mule spotted for the second time.
The upcoming Bajaj CNG bike will be targeted at the commuter segment and the latest spy shots confirm the same. This will be the first two-wheeler in the world to use CNG as a fuel and we expect it to score high in terms of fuel efficiency.
Upcoming Bajaj CNG Bike: What We Know?
Going by the spy images, the two-wheeler sports a simple design which speaks of utility and comfort, primarily meant for committing inside the city. In terms of positioning, it will rival the likes of other 110-125cc motorcycles in the Indian market. While the test mule is heavily covered, we can spot the basic equipment on offer like telescopic forks, alloy wheels, road-biased tyres, a crash guard, a heal-and-toe type gear shifter and more.

Upcoming Bajaj CNG Bike: Powertrain and Pricing
Being a CNG bike, it will also use petrol as an alternative fuel, much like CNG cars. However, it will have limited petrol capacity considering the space crunch in a two-wheeler. The CNG tank will be positioned below the seat and it will be well covered. In terms of pricing, the upcoming Bajaj CNG bike will command a small premium over its regular petrol powertrain counterparts, thanks to the extra CNG equipment. The powertrain details are under wraps, however, the bike will use a proper fuel injection system.
Furthermore, we expect the power figures to drop a bit. On the flip side, the CNG bike will be extremely fuel efficient. We expect it to be capable of doing around 100 kilometres on a tank full of CNG. The bike will make sense in cities with CNG infrastructure and it will help to save the running costs in intercity travel.
