With the electric vehicle space gaining constant traction in the Indian market, Volvo has cut down on the prices of its all-electric SUV, the XC40 Recharge. This price reduction comes in the form of a single motor variant which will set you back by Rs. 54.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Volvo XC40 Recharge Single-Motor Variant: Price Difference
The dual-motor AWD P8 variant of the Volvo XC40 Recharge costs Rs. 57.90 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the newly launched more affordable single-motor trim costs around Rs. 55 lakh (ex-showroom). With this calculation, the price difference comes down to exactly Rs. 2.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Affordable Volvo XC40 Recharge: Powertrain Differences
The XC40 P8 AWD trim uses a 79 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed number of 418 kilometres. The newly launched XC40 Recharge single-motor variant is even better with a claimed range of 475 kilometres using a slightly smaller 69kWh battery pack. So, the better the range, the better it serves the purpose.
Talking about the output figures, the single-motor trim delivers 236 bhp and 420 Nm of peak torque as compared to the P8 AWD’s 402 bhp and 660 Nm of peak torque. The P8 AWD is also faster in 0-100 kmph spring timing of 4.9 seconds.
