Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun have been around for a while in the Indian market and we have seen multiple special editions down the line to keep the affair going in terms of updates. However, the India 2.0 program cars have not undergone a major overhaul. The updated models are said to get major sheet metal changes. This means that the Virtus and Taigun could get a major design update, including the headlights, bumpers, and tail lamps as well as a new set of alloy wheels. These design changes can bring the mid-size models at par with the latest Volkswagen cars in terms of the design language.
In addition to this, some changes are expected inside the cabin as well. Updated dashboard layout and addition of new features such as Level 2 ADAS will likely be a part of the package.

While the exact timeline is yet to be ascertained, sources tell us that the Volkswagen Virtus Taigun Facelift launch is likely around the end of next year i.e. 2025 or early 2026. The updated models will help the company to continue its momentum on the sales chart.
Under the hood, the updated Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun will continue with the existing set of 1.0 litre TSI and 1.5 litre TSI EVO petrol engines. The former comes mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox while the latter uses the 7-speed DSG unit along with the 6-speed manual.
