The Hyundai Creta is long due and will be launched on January 17. The EV has been spied multiple times on the Indian tarmac, albeit in its fully camouflaged avatar. We know that the design will be familiar to the latest Creta facelift with some EV-specific touches such as a blanked-off front grille and aero-efficient alloy wheels.
The Creta EV will get a 45kWh battery pack with a claimed range of over 400 kilometres. Power output numbers will stand at 138 bhp and 255 Nm of peak torque. If priced right, the Creta EV has the potential to rule the mid-size electric SUV market. We expect it to be priced at around Rs. 20 lakh.
The Venue was launched in India in 2019 with the mid-life facelift arriving in 2022. Following the timeline, the next-gen model of the Venue is due next year i.e. 2025. The new compact SUV will get a refreshed exterior design, changes to the interiors and some new feature additions. Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, bigger displays and better comfort for rear seats can be expected.
Under the hood, the 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre tGDi petrol and 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engines will continue to power the upcoming new Venue. We expect a diesel automatic option to be a part of the package. With the update, the Venue could get a minor price hike. The launch is expected to be in the second half of 2025.
