Upcoming BMW M3 Electric Sports Sedan Powertrain: 4 Electric Motors?
The upcoming BMW M3 EV will reportedly sport 4 electric motors, one for each wheel. The combined power output could easily be around 1000 bhp and even the torque figures will be in a similar ballpark. With this much power on tap, the M3 electric will likely get multiple modes to play around with the front and rear power distribution, in case you want to let the tail slip out a bit. We can further expect maximum traction on track with power delivery to individual wheels.
Upcoming BMW M3 Electric Sports Sedan: The Design Highlights
The four-door sedan is based on a dedicated platform and hence, it appears quite compact from the fully camouflaged test prototype images. Furthermore, short overhangs, flush-type door handles, blanked-off front grille and large wheels will be a part of the package.

The BMW M3 Electric is still a long time away and if everything goes as per the plan, we can see it on the road in the year 2028. The new-gen 3-Series sedan will likely be launched by the end of 2025.
BMW will continue to sell the current M3 until the next-gen arrives which will get both petrol and battery-powered versions. Reports also suggest that the upcoming 7th generation M3 will skip the manual gearbox and be offered in an all-wheel-drive and automatic configuration.
