Tata Altroz Racer Launch Next Month: Teased

The sporty version of Tata Altroz is set for a debut next month in India; Expected price is around Rs 10 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Motors first showcased the Altroze Racer at the 2023 Auto Expo. Earlier it was speculated that this sporty Altroze would go on sale in 2023. However, the launch was delayed to 2024, and the premium hatchback was again showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo in its near-production guise. In the latest development, the Indian carmaker has shared the first teaser of the Altroz Racer, confirming its imminent launch.

Tata Altroz Racer Launch: What the teaser says?

The teaser highlights the side profile of the sporty hatchback and it looks quite familiar to the regular Altroz, albeit with some minor changes. Even the alloy wheels sport a very similar design to the regular model. Even the red and black dual-tone paint scheme is also visible in the teaser which will be specific to this model.

Tata Altroz Racer Launch: VS Hyundai i20 N-Line

The Tata Altroze racer will go up against the likes of Hyundai i20 N-Line in the Indian market. It will likely use the familiar 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine from the Nexon. The power output figures will be 118 bhp and 173 NM of peak torque. These output numbers will be at par with the i20 N-Line’s 1.0-litre tGDi motor putting out 120 bhp and 178 Nm of peak torque. It is important to note that the I-20 will have a major weight advantage over the Altroz.

The Tata Altroze is a 5-star rated car by GNCAP standards and the i20 N-Line will fall short in this regard. Expect the Tata Altroze Racer to sport multiple good-to-have features such as ventilated seats, automatic headlamps, automatic HVAC, electric sunroof and more.

Tata Altroz Racer Launch: Expected Price

Tata Altroz Racer is expected to be priced at around Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in the same ball-park as the i20 N-Line.
