Skoda Superb India Debut On April 3: Import Details

Earlier, the Skoda Superb was manufactured locally in India, however, for the year 2024, the company will utilize the CBU route, taking full advantage of the 2500 units threshold which saves the homologation costs. We expect the top-spec L&K version to be launched in India which will come loaded with features such as ADAS, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree parking camera and more.

Skoda Superb India Debut On April 3: Powertrain

The familiar 2.0-litre turbo-petrol TSI engine which will be BS6 Phase 2 compliant will power the Superb. The powerhouse is rated for 190 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque, paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

Skoda Superb India Debut On April 3: Expected Price

Per a leaked document, the Superb will be launched at around Rs. 55 lakh (ex-showroom). On the contrary, we believe the earlier price of around 37 lakh was well justified for the sedan. Coming as a full import, the Superb will be positioned a bit higher, thanks to the extra taxes and the range can now go up to Rs. 45 lakh. In addition to the Superb, Skoda is also planning to bring back Octavia in India and it will probably come in the hybrid VRS guise.

In addition to this, Skoda will launch a new compact SUV in India next year.
