Skoda Kylaq Variant-Wise Waiting Period Revealed: Details

The deliveries and test drives of the Skoda Kylaq have already commenced; Waiting period stretches to 4 months.

Skoda Kylaq is the newest entrant in the sub-4-meter SUV segment and has managed to grab a lot of eyeballs, thanks to its German engineering tag and an aggressive starting price of Rs. 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The deliveries and test drives of the Kylaq started earlier this week. Now, the variant-wise waiting period of the Kylaq has been revealed.

Skoda Kylaq Waiting Period: Up To 4 Months

As per the information available from our dealer sources, the waiting period for the Kylaq already extends to 4 months. The base-spec Classic variant which also saw a booking halt in between commands the highest waiting period of 4 months. This variant is only available with a manual gearbox option.

On the other hand, the second-from-base Signature trim commands a waiting time of 3-4 months, for both MT and AT transmission options. However, it may vary depending on the colour option. The MT variant will have a higher waiting as compared to the AT trims.

The top-spec Signature+ and Prestige variants can be had within a time span of 2-3 months, regardless of the colour and gearbox option you choose. This means that the top-spec trims have the least waiting period.

Skoda Kylaq Waiting Period: Delivery Target In Phase 1

For the first phase of the deliveries, Skoda has set a target to deliver 33,000 units of the Kylaq by May 2025. According to our sources, the majority of the first batch has been set for higher-spec trims and this is one of the main reasons behind the long wait for the base-spec Classic variant.

The Skoda Kylaq is positioned in a highly competitive sub-4-meter SUV segment where the customers are not short of choices. These high waiting periods will do more harm than good for Kylaq, presenting a major barrier to the initial sales momentum.
