Skoda Auto India today launched the Kuhsaq Onyx Automatic in the Indian market. The special Onyx Editon was introduced last year but it was limited to just the manual gearbox option. The intensifying competition in the segment demanded a more accessible automatic gearbox option for the Kushaq and here we have the Onyx AT which will set you back by Rs. 13.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Skoda Kushaq Onyx Automatic: Price Analysis

With the rising demand for automatic gearbox options in the Indian market, especially for SUVs, every car manufacturer is trying to cut down on the pricing by offering AT gearbox in the lower trims. Even the Mahindra XUV700 will soon get an automatic gearbox option in the base MX petrol variant. Keeping up with the trend, the Onyx AT will be the most affordable trim offering the automatic gearbox option in the Kushaq. Priced at Rs. 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Onyx AT commands a premium of Rs. 60,000 over the manual Onyx Edition which is priced at Rs. 12.89 lakh (ex-showroom). So, Rs. 60,000 extra will get you a proper 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox which is definitely worth every penny.

Furthermore, it will rival the likes of 2nd to base variants of the cars like Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

The Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition is quite a value-for-money variant and it sits between the base-spec Activa and the mid-spec Ambition variant. It comes loaded with features like 16-inch wheels with covers, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired smartphone connectivity, 6 speakers, automatic HVAC, LED headlamps with DRLs and more. Recently, Skoda also updated its line-up with 6 airbags as standard and it also applies to the Onyx Edition. Furthermore, the AT variant comes equipped with paddle shifters.
