New-Gen Ford Endeavour Spotted in India: Will it Launch in India?

The latest images of the new-gen Ford Endeavour doing rounds on social media have people believing that Ford could relaunch the SUV in the Indian market.

After Ford’s exit from the Indian market, the Fortuner has taken over the full-size SUV segment and currently stands as the only recognizable name in the low-volume category. While there are other SUVs like the MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian etc, these cars have failed to make a mark. There are reports doing rounds on social media that Ford could launch the Endeavour in India via the CBU route. In this article, we will try to explain to you all the possible circumstances of Ford’s re-entry into the Indian market. New-Gen Ford Endeavour India Launch Details.

Ford Endeavour India Launch: What the spy images suggest?

In the latest spy images, the new-gen Ford Endeavour can be seen on a flatbed and no points for guessing that it’s a brand-new vehicle. The SUV is sold under the Everest nameplate internationally and the same badge can be seen on the SUV. In India, the 7-seater SUV will be launched by the Endeavour name and this is the first reason for us to believe that this specific vehicle’s spotting in India has nothing to do with Ford’s re-entry into the Indian market.

New-Gen Ford Endeavour India Launch: What’s the truth?

Our source suggests that this is a personal import by an automotive enthusiast. If Ford decides to launch the Endeavour in India, it will be via the CBU route. Its price will easily go above Rs. 60 lakh (ex-showroom), considering the heavy import duties levied on CBU imports. The direct rival to the Toyota Fortuner will be powered by a 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine and there’s a 3.0 litre V6 diesel on sale in the International markets. We can expect the India-spec model to get the 2.0-litre diesel engine, paired with the option of a 10-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
