In India, the 7-seater SUV will be launched by the Endeavour name and this is the first reason for us to believe that this specific vehicle’s spotting in India has nothing to do with Ford’s re-entry into the Indian market.

New-Gen Ford Endeavour India Launch: What’s the truth?

Our source suggests that this is a personal import by an automotive enthusiast. If Ford decides to launch the Endeavour in India, it will be via the CBU route. Its price will easily go above Rs. 60 lakh (ex-showroom), considering the heavy import duties levied on CBU imports. The direct rival to the Toyota Fortuner will be powered by a 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine and there’s a 3.0 litre V6 diesel on sale in the International markets. We can expect the India-spec model to get the 2.0-litre diesel engine, paired with the option of a 10-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
