Mahindra & Mahindra will start delivering the Thar Roxx on 12th October and accounting for the claimed booking numbers by the company, the waiting period will definitely skyrocket. To keep the momentum, the Indian SUV maker is planning to ramp up its production capacity. Currently, the capacity for Thar and Thar Roxx is around 6,500 units combined. As per the details available, Thar 3-Door has been allocated around 2,000-2,500 units, the rest goes to the account of Thar Roxx—Mahindra Thar Roxx Monthly Production- All Details.

As per the latest media reports, the production capacity of the Thar nameplate will be ramped up to 7,500 units by November this year. Thar Roxx managed to get over 1.76 lakh bookings in just 60 minutes. Mahindra hasn’t revealed the variant-wise waiting period yet, however, it is expected to be around 6 to 12 months.
The waiting period of over 6 months for any car in 2024 when the market is experiencing a slowdown and the inventory levels are at an all-time high, results in rapid booking cancellations. To avoid this, the company plans to ramp up Thar Roxx’s production to 9,500 units from January 2025 onwards. This will be the combined production numbers for Thar 3-Door and Thar Roxx, of which around 6,500 to 7,000 units will be for the Thar 5-Door.
The petrol will have a lesser waiting time due to lesser demand. We also believe the lower and mid-spec trim will command the highest waiting period.
