Mahindra Thar Facelift Launch Next Year: The Expected Changes
Internally codenamed W515, the work of the Thar facelift has already commenced. The facelifted model will share its design with the latest Thar Roxx 5-Door. A new grille, LED headlamps with C-shaped DRLs, updated LED tail lamps, new bumpers and a new set of alloy wheels will be a part of the package.
Inside the cabin, the Thar facelift will most probably get a new steering wheel and minor changes to the dashboard layout along with the new larger infotainment system. Mahindra could likely equip the top-spec variants with a fully digital instrument cluster, however, nothing can be confirmed as of now.
In addition to this, the updated model could get a single-pane sunroof for the hard-top variants. We don’t expect creature comfort features like ventilated and electrically adjustable seats as the Thar 3-Door is targeted at off-road-oriented buyers. Customers who are looking for a better cabin experience will have the option of the Thar Roxx. This way, Mahindra will have a proper differentiation between both models.

Mahindra Thar Facelift Launch Next Year: Mechanical Updates
There will hardly be any mechanical changes to the Thar facelift. However, Mahindra could work on the suspension, in order to make it more compliant for on-road driving. With the facelift, the Thar Facelift will continue to be offered with both 4X2 and 4X4 configurations. It will be interesting to see whether the Indian SUV maker will continue to offer 4X4 with the petrol powertrain as this option is missing in the Thar Roxx.
Under the hood, the familiar 2.0-litre Stallion petrol, 2.2-litre mHawk diesel and the 1.5-litre turbo diesel (RWD) will continue to power the Thar Facelift.
