Lexus LBX Morizo RR Revealed: 300 HP, Manual Gearbox Setup

The Lexus LBX gets a new high-performance variant, the ‘Morizo RR’ with a 300 HP engine paired to a manual gearbox; Borrows the powertrain from the Toyota GR Yaris.

Lexus has revealed the final production version of the LBX Morizo RR for the Japanese market. The high-performance variant of the LBX was first showcased in the concept form at the Tokyo Auto Salon held in January 2024. The bookings for the powerful SUV are now open and will go on sale next month. The LBX Morizo RR will also be sold in a bespoke build limited to just 100 units allotted via a lottery system.

Lexus LBX Morizo RR: Powertrain

The Lexus LBX Morizo RR will be powered by the familiar G16E-GTS 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine putting out 300 HP and 400 Nm of peak torque, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. In addition to this, an 8-speed automatic unit is also on offer. This engine is a straight life-off from the Toyota GR Yaris and GR Corolla. The power is supplied to all four wheels via a full-time all-wheel-drive system. The car can go from 0-100 kmph in just 5.2 seconds.
