Electric vehicles seem to be taking over the world and the latest manufacturer to adopt electrification is the performance expert Lamborghini. The second model to get a hybrid powertrain is the Urus and it has been dubbed the Urus SE. The first hybrid plug-in version of the Lamborghini Super SUV has been unveiled at the Volkswagen Group Media Night ahead of the public premiere at Auto China Beijing 2024 on April 25. The Urus SE features a new design paired with optimized aerodynamics and an 800 CV hybrid powertrain, the PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) version of the Urus boasts an 80% reduction in emissions. The familiar twin-turbo 4.0 V8 engine has been re-engineered to work optimally with the electric powertrain. The engine develops 620 bhp of maximum power (456 kW) and 800 Nm of peak torque. The electric powertrain delivers 192 bhp (141 kW) and 483 Nm of torque. The combined power output stands at 800 bhp and 950 Nm of peak torque.
A 25.9-kWh lithium-ion battery is situated below the load floor and above the electronically controlled rear differential. The electric-only range of the Urus SE stands at 60 kilometres while the top speed is limited to 130 kph. Despite being in the EV mode, the Urus SE operates in four-wheel-drive and the super-SUV can do 0-100 kph in just 3.4 seconds. The rated top speed of the Urus SE stands at 312 kph.

The alloy wheels are updated with the introduction of 23” Galanthus rims paired as standard with new Pirelli P Zero tyres. There are three dedicated P Zeros, from 21″ to 23″, to meet customers’ different requirements for comfort and sportiness. Scorpion Winter 2 tyres are available for the cold season. All these products feature Pirelli Elect technology, developed to enhance the characteristics of the first electrified Urus.
