Kia Syros Engine Options: Petrol
While it was earlier suggested that the Syros would be a petrol-only SUV, the latest media reports claim that the diesel engine will also be an option. The upcoming Kia Syros will be offered with the familiar engine options, currently doing duty on the Sonet and Seltos. For the petrol Syros, the 1.0-litre tGDi petrol motor will be mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
The power output figures will be 118 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque. The 1.2 litre naturally aspirated unit from the Sonet will be skipped and this will likely bump up the starting price of the compact SUV.

Kia Syros Engine Options: Diesel
For the diesel-powered Syros, Kia will stick to the familiar 1.5-litre turbo oil burner, putting out 115 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine will come with the option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox option. The 6-speed AT paired with the diesel is a popular choice with the Sonet and it is expected to continue with the Syros. The lighter body weight will result in punchy performance and good fuel efficiency.
Kia Syros Engine Options: Expected Starting Price
As per our estimates, Kia Syros petrol will come at a starting price of around Rs. 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom), while the diesel range is expected to start from Rs. 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
