Kia Sonet To Get Two New Sunroof Variants: HTE (O) & HTK (O)

Kia Sonet Sunroof Variants

Kia will soon introduce two new variants for the Sonet i.e. HTE (O) and HTK (O) which will get a sunroof and a few more features over the regular HTE and HTK trims.

Kia India’s latest launch, the Sonet is selling in good numbers and established a good spot in the sub-4-meter SUV segment. An extensive powertrain package, feature-loaded cabin and modern styling are some major contributing factors to the Sonet’s popularity. In order to further expand the range of choices for the customers, Kia will introduce two new trims to the Sonet line-up.

Kia Sonet To Get Two New Sunroof Variants: Base Variant With Sunroof

As per the reports, the base HTE variant will get a new interaction i.e. HTE (O) with a sunroof. On the other hand, the HTK (O) variant will get a few more feature additions such as LED-connected tail lamps, automatic HVAC, a rear defogger and a sunroof. These new optional variants will be available in both petrol as well as diesel powertrain options.

Kia Sonet To Get Two New Sunroof Variants: Is it a good move?

Sunroof is one of the most sought-after features in the Indian market and every SUV in the sub-4-meter segment gets this feature. While the real-world usage of the sunroof is questionable, especially in the relatively warm Indian climate, it has surely become a herb mentality. The base trims are usually devoid of a sunroof because car manufacturers target a steep starting price. However, creating new trims with the (O) suffix is a good idea and can be useful for buyers who want a sunroof within a restricted budget.

Kia Sonet To Get Two New Sunroof Variants: Safety over Sunroof?

The safety quotient of the Kia Sonet is still a topic of debate and we can’t ignore the fact that the SUV gets a host of standard safety tech such as 6 airbags, ESP and more. We will wait for the facelift’s crash test rating before making any further comments on this.

We strongly believe that giving other basic features like adjustable seatbelts, height adjustable driver’s seat, electronic ORVMs, front and rear armrests, company-fitted infotainment and more will be far more valuable in base trims as compared to the sunroof.
