The Jeep Meridian is all set to get a midlife facelift update this year and will likely debut in the second half of 2024. The Toyota Fortuner rival was launched in the year 2022 in the Indian market and it is a three-row version of the Jeep Compass. The Meridian also squares off with the likes of MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and Isuzu mu-X in the country. While the Meridian is not that old and still appears pretty modern, a minor update won’t hurt and it will also benefit from the introduction of a new petrol engine.

The Meridian currently employs the 2.0-litre FIAT-sourced turbo-diesel engine putting out 170 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. There’s no petrol engine on offer as of now. With the facelift, Jeep is planning to introduce a new petrol engine which will also be carried over to the Compass.
The Brazilian spec Meridian which is sold under the Commander nameplate is available with a 1.3 litre turbo-petrol engine putting out 185 bhp and we expect to get the same engine in the Meridian Facelift. For reference, the Brazilian Commander Facelift will get the 272 bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol from the Wrangler, however, it will not be available in India.
