Expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom), the two upcoming electric cars from Hyundai will target the mid-size EV SUV and sub-compact electric SUV segments.
With Tata Motors taking big leaps in the electric vehicle segment, its fierce competitor Hyundai also plans to launch multiple new EVs in the coming years. Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV and the upcoming Tata Curvv EV will face stiff competition from the Korean brand’s upcoming electric cars which are bound to launch in India starting next year. As of now, Hyundai is only relying on premium electric cars in India such as the IONIQ 5 and the recently discontinued Kona EV. In this article, we will look at Hyundai’s 2 new EVs launching in India along with their expected price, launch timeline and driving range.

Hyundai’s 2 New EVs Launch Confirmed: The Creta EV
Hyundai has been working on the electric Creta for a long time, and the launch is also not too far away. The test mule of the Creta EV has been spied multiple times and it will be the first mass-market EV from the Korean brand. The design will be carried over from the Creta Facelift and even the interiors will remain more or less the same.
Hyundai Creta EV: Expected Price
The Creta ICE starts from Rs. 11 lakh (ex-showroom), going all the way up to Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Knowing the EVs command a good premium over their ICE counterpart, we can expect the Creta EV to come at a starting price of Rs. 18 lakh and the range will easily extend to around Rs. 22 lakh (ex-showroom). This is only possible if Hyundai decides to give the electric Creta a lower spec trim, most likely based on the mid-spec S variant. If the company sticks to the top-end trims, the price will start from over Rs. 20 lakh.

Hyundai Creta EV: Expected Range and Battery Pack
As per the media reports, the Hyundai Creta EV will use a 45kWh battery pack and the electric motor will be a straight lift-off from the new-gen Kona sold overseas. The electric motor will be tuned to produce 138 bhp and 255 Nm of peak torque. In comparison to its rivals, the battery pack is relatively small in terms of capacity, however, we are yet to know the claimed range. We expect it to do around 400 kilometres on a single charge. The charging point is located on the front nose, as seen in the spy shots.
Hyundai’s 2 New EVs Launch Confirmed: The Sub-Compact Inster-based EV- Tata Punch Rival
The new sub-compact electric SUV, codenamed HE1i will go on sale in India in the second half of 2026. The Hyundai’s headquarters has given a green flag for the new project and the new small electric car will be derived from the recently revealed Inster EV.
Hyundai Inster EV: Expected Price & Underpinnings
The HE1i EV will be based on the born electric E-GMP (K) platform which is a global architecture for affordable small electric cars. Hyundai also aims to localise the battery packs and has partnered with Exide for the same. We expect the Punch EV rival Hyundai’s electric SUV to start from around Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-end long-range model will easily go up to Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Inster EV: Expected Range and Battery Pack
The Inster-based new EV for India will likely get two battery pack options i.e. 42kWh unit and a long-range 49kWh unit. The former will come with a claimed range of 300 kilometres while the latter will claim 350 kilometres on a single charge. The standard range will get 97 bhp with 147 Nm torque. On the other hand, the long-range will carry more juice, producing 115 bhp.
