Hyundai and Tata Motors have been competing neck to neck lately in terms of sales figures and the call is very close. In January 2024, Tata Motors overtook Hyundai by selling over 53,000 units compared to the latter’s 51,652 units. The coin has been again flipped in February and it’s the Hyundai that is standing at the number 2 spot. Will there even be a clear winner and what are our future predictions?

Hyundai Ahead Of Tata Motors in Feb 2024 Sales: Will the Trend Continue?

Around the same timeline in 2023, the gap between Hyundai and Tata Motors was a mere few hundred units and the rivalry has continued to this year i.e. 2024. Talking about the sales figures of February 2024, Tata Motors sold 44,784 units while Hyundai’s numbers stand at 46,464 units. The difference of 1,680 units is not a very close call but it’s very easy to cover up this small lead.

Why Tata Motors will stand at the 2nd Spot?

Tata Motors has a slew of new products lined up for the Indian market such as Curvv and Curvv EV along with the Harrier EV. While the Harrier EV will not be a major volume puller, the Tata Curvv will give a major push to Tata Motors’s sales. This comes down to the fact that Curvv will play a segment that the company hasn’t explored yet and we can’t undermine the fact that this is a volume-intensive mid-size SUV space. So, anywhere around 4000-5000 monthly units won’t be a big deal for the Indian carmaker. In addition to this, the Curvv will also contribute to around 1,000 units.

On the other hand, Hyundai has no new product in its hands and will rely on facelifts for new launches.
