Citroen Basalt Vision Revealed: The C3X in Flesh

Citroen Basalt Vision Revealed

Specially tailored for India and South Africa, the Citroen Basalt Vision will go on sale this year; The Tata Curvv rivalling coupe-SUV has been spotted multiple times on-road.

Stellantis, Citroen’s parent company today uncovered the Basalt Vision Concept. This is none other than the C3X which has already been discussed in length. The only new highlight is the design which has been revealed in full flesh. The French-carmaker is calling it the Basalt Vision, however, it will go by the C3X in India in order to retain the consistent nomenclature. Currently sporting the C3, eC3, C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross, the Basalt Vision will be the fifth model in the company’s line-up. On the contrary, the coupe-SUV will be the fourth model under the localised C-cubed programme.

Citroen Basalt Vision Revealed: The Talking Point- Design

Upfront, it belongs to the Citroen family, especially the resemblance with C3 Aircross is felt from every angle. The side profile with the Coupe-ish sloping roofline is the highlight. It surely looks better than the upcoming Tata Curvv. The flared wheel arches, strong waistline and stylish alloy wheels are a part of the package.

While this is a concept vehicle, Citroen says the final production version won’t stray too far away. The uplifted rear section lends it the much-required appeal.

Citroen Basalt Vision Revealed: C3X will soon be a reality

Affordable mass-market coupes will soon be a reality in India with the Citroen Basalt Vision and Tata Curvv. With the sub-standard quality and lack of creature comforts in the current crop of Citroen cars, the expectation from the C3X will definitely be very high. In fact, nobody will like the stylish design of a coupe-SUV with bright colour options, packed in average fit and finish levels. Reports suggest that it will be loaded with features. Pricing will play a big role and more engine options can further help the cause.

The Coupe-SUV design will not appeal to everyone’s taste but it will surely appeal to a unique set of buyers who want to stand out of the crowd.
