Ather Rizta Family e-Scooter Launch on April 6: Expected Price

Sporting the biggest seat in the segment, the Rizta e-scooter will launch on April 6; Will it be an exciting product?

We at OPAV Autos are not a very big fan of electric scooters. The not-very-good range, higher selling price and tech-related bugs continue to be a point of contention for electric scooter buyers. However, the market has been quite steady off-lately and new startups are joining the bandwagon. The latest update is coming from Ather where they have confirmed the news of the Rizta electric scooter launch.

Ather Rizta e-scooter: Launch On 6th April

Spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads, the Ather Rizta is targeted at an average urban commuter segment, much like the Honda Activa in the ICE scooter segment. A teaser released by the company highlighted the seat size of the upcoming Rizta with the Activa and Ola S1 scooters. The Ather Rizta will rival the likes of TVS iQube in the Indian market.

The spy images highlighted its large proportions, basic design and larger footboard which are a must for any family-oriented electric scooter. While the powertrain details are under wraps, we expect the Rizta to share its motor and battery pack with the 450 series. However, it will not be tuned for performance unlike the Ather 450. The primary task of this electric scooter will be to take the passengers from point A to point B.

The Ather Rizta could also get a small luggage rack to accommodate small bags and the larger floorboard will further add to the sense of space.

In terms of technology, expect the Ather Rizta to get ABS, a digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, in-built navigation and more.

Talking about the pricing, we expect the Rizta to be priced at around Rs. 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
