All-New Citroen C3 Aircross Comes In Hybrid & EV Guise: Details

Citroen C3 Aircross gets a big update for the European market and comes in pure-petrol, hybrid and all-electric options under the hood.

The all-new Citroen C3 Aircross is finally here and we have all the necessary specifications in our hands, obviously, with the new design which is even more appealing than before. Taking the crossover affair to the next level, Citroen hasn’t shied away from offering multiple powertrain options with the new C3 Aircross. All-New Citroen C3 Aircross: Powertrain- Pure Petrol, Hybrid & Electric

Pure-Petrol- The C3 Aircross in its gas-fed guise uses a 1.2-litre PureTech turbo petrol engine putting out 102 bhp, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and complies with Euro7 emission standards. This is the entry point into the C3 Aircross range.

Hybrid- The C3 Aircross Hybrid is powered by the familiar 1.2-litre three-cylinder PureTech petrol engine mated to a 29 bhp electric motor that draws power from a 48V battery pack. The combined power output from the eco-friendly setup stands at 136 bhp and it is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

All-Electric Citroen C3 Aircross- The highlight of the new C3 Aircross is its fresh fully electric powertrain which makes use of a 44 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, capable of producing 113 bhp. The top speed is limited to 145 kmph and it can go up to 186 miles (300 Kilometres) on a single charge. The battery pack supports up to 100 kW DC fast charging.

Besides this, Citroen says that a proper electric variant is in the works and it will likely be launched in 2025 with a range of over 400 kilometres on a single charge.

All-New Citroen C3 Aircross: The Underpinnings and Dimensions

In a radical shift to the way it approaches the compact SUV market, Citroën has completely reinvented the C3 Aircross. In its European variant, this brand-new model shares the Smart Car platform with the recent C3, enabling it to be positioned at a very attractive price. The crossover SUV measures 4.39 metres long and 1.79 metres wide. It is available in both 5 and 7-seater configurations. The wheelbase of 2.67 m offers maximum space on board: the 5-seater version delivers record space in row 2 and a 460-litre boot. The ground clearance numbers stand at over 200mm for the new C3 Aircross.

All-New Citroen C3 Aircross: The Design

The design has to be the last thing on your mind if you are buying the new C3 Aircross as it appears quite modern with the butch SUV vibe. With an assertive, graphic design underpinned by wide fascias, the all-new C3 Aircross is an SUV from every angle. The front fascias feature vertical colour-clips that customers can change at will. The front-end design incorporates the new logo. The headlamp design references the new three-point light signature inaugurated on the Oli concept. The SUV feel comes through loud and clear on the high, horizontal bonnet and the front’s vertical lines. The wheel arch guards are inspired by the square-round design concept introduced on the ë-C3 and C3 saloons.
