Mahindra has officially launched the off-road-ready Scorpio N Adventure Edition for the South African market.
We all know that Mahindra & Mahindra is operating in major markets like Australia and South Africa apart from the homeland of India. The Scorpio N was launched in Australia and South Africa last year. In the latest development, Mahindra has launched a special edition model of the Scorpio N for the South African market. Dubbed the ‘Adventure Edition’, the special edition is targetted as a factory-fitted off-road spec version of the Scorpio N and it does look quite good in pictures. Mahindra Scorpio N Adventure Edition Revealed: The Changes
To begin with, the Scorpio N is already a macho-looking SUV and the South African market gets the same spec model as India. The special Adventure Edition models add several cosmetic and mechanical tweaks to the package. Going through the images, we can clearly spot the off-road spec front and rear bumpers. These bumpers will really enhance the approach and departure angles of the Scoprio N which are not so off-road worthy in the stock form.
Apart from this, the Scorpio N Adventure Edition sports a new set of all-black multi-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels shod with off-road tyres. Moreover, the wheel arch cladding has further been broadened to help the cause. The roof carrier also helps to enhance the overall stance of the Scoprio N.
Mahindra Scorpio N Adventure Edition Revealed: Variant and will it be launched in India?
The Mahindra Scorpio N Adventure Edition is based on the Z8 4WD diesel variant and carries the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine in the exactly same state of tune, mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The power output from the motor stands at 172 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque.
As for its India launch is concerned, it is highly unlikely to make it to the domestic market and also, we haven’t received any official confirmation from Mahindra. This also comes down to the fact that the demand for such off-road spec vehicles is quite low in the country and going through all the legal processes for a factory spec car is another tiresome process which the car companies usually avoid.
