Honda Elevate Price Hike: Justified?
Honestly, this price hike is very steep and Honda could have toned down the increment a bit. The base trim now comes at around Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom) with minimal equipment. On the other hand, the starting price of its rivals like the Creta and Seltos is around Rs. 11 lakh. On the other hand, the Germans i.e. Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq start at around Rs. 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom) and we can’t ignore the fact that hefty discounts are always there to aid the price.
The value for money and the highest selling trims i.e. V and VX MT get the highest increment of Rs. 40,000. The Elevate is powered by a reliable 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine putting out 121 bhp and 145 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to the option of a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox.
The new range of Honda Elevate is priced between 11.91 lakh to Rs. 16.43 lakh (ex-showroom). Lack of features as compared to rivals, low claimed fuel efficiency figures and quality issues continue to remain the Elevate’s shortcomings.
