With the 2025 update, the diesel iMT powertrain has been discontinued across the range; New variants added to the line-up.
In a recent strategic move, Kia India has rejigged with variants of its popular models i.e. Sonet, Seltos and Carens. Applicable for the MY2025 range, the updates to the line-up include the discontinuation of certain variants along with the introduction of new trims. Let’s look at the details of the updated 2025 Kia Sonet, Seltos and Carens variant line-up.

2025 Kia Seltos: 3 New Variants
The Seltos no longer gets the diesel iMT powertrain option, however, the turbo petrol iMT continues as it. In addition to this, Kia has pulled the plugs on the Gravity Edition. Even the GTX trim has been discontinued from the Seltos GT-Line range. New variants added to the line-up include HTK(O), HTK+(O) and HTX(O).
2025 Kia Sonet: HTK+(O) Variant Added & HTX+ Discontinued
Much like the Seltos, the Gravity Edition and the Diesel iMT powertrain option have been discontinued. The iMT turbo petrol is contained as it with variants like HTK, HTK(O), HTK+(O) and HTX. Amongst these, the HTK+(O) is the new addition with features like 16-inch crystal cut alloy wheels, electric sunroof, crown jewel LED headlamp, leatherette seats, dual-camera dash cam, wireless charger and push button start amongst others. This new variant can be had with the 1.2 petrol MT and 1.0 turbo petrol iMT powertrain options.

2025 Kia Carens: No Diesel AT for X-Line Variant
Unlike the Sonet and Seltos, the Carens retains the Gravity Edition. However, the Carens X-Line Diesel AT has now been discontinued. Even the Luxury trim is no longer available. For the turbo petrol iMT powertrain, there are Premium(O), Gravity Edition and Prestige Plus trims on offer. With these updates, the diesel AT setup is only available with the sole Prestige Plus (O) variant.
