Mahindra & Mahindra currently sells the XUV3XO in petrol and diesel engine options and the XUV3XO EV is due for a launch this year. In order to further expand its portfolio, the Indian SUV manufacturer is exploring hybrid technology for its line-up. After venturing into the EV segment with the BE 6 and XEV 9e, based on the INGLO platform, hybrid SUVs are on the cards. As per the reports, the Mahindra XUV3XO Hybrid is under development and could likely debut in 2026.

Mahindra XUV3XO Hybrid: What We Know?
Internally codenamed S226, the XUV3XO hybrid is under consideration for the Indian market. The development work of the strong hybrid system for the compact SUV has started. Reportedly, Mahindra will likely use the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with the strong hybrid setup. As for the initial phase of development is concerned, this engine has turned out to be suitable for electrification, ticking all the boxes in terms of space to accommodate the hybrid system, ensuring the technical viability.
Mahindra XUV3XO Hybrid: Launch Timeline and Expected Price
If everything goes as per the plans, the XUV3XO Hybrid could go on sale by the year 2026. As for the price is concerned, we are not yet clear whether the strong hybrid system is developed in-house or taken from external sources. However, the components of the strong hybrid system, like most other manufacturers, will most likely be imported which will command a cost.
While it is too early to comment on the pricing part, you can expect a good premium over the regular petrol-powered XUV3XO. Mahindra is expected to offer the strong hybrid system only on the top-spec trims.
