Mahindra will launch its first pickup truck in India based on the Scorpio N in 2026; New Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross Facelift are also on the cards.
Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross are the only two options customers have in the lifestyle pickup truck segment. Both pickups make up around 200-300 units every month and go on to show how small the segment is. Upcoming New Pickup Trucks In India: New Toyota Hilux
Toyota has already updated the Hilux in multiple international markets, and it now has a mild-hybrid powertrain. The updated model also gets a minor design update and is expected to debut in India sometime next year. Under the hood, the familiar 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine is a part of the package, mated to the 48V mild-hybrid system. With the new powerhouse, the Hilux will be more fuel-efficient as compared to the current model. The power output figures stand at 204 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque. As per the company, the new mild-hybrid system improves power delivery as well as aids fuel efficiency by around 6-10%.
Upcoming New Pickup Trucks In India: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Facelift
The good old Isuzu V-Cross has certainly started to show its age and is very basic in terms of technology as well as features. However, the mid-life facelift update of the Isuzu V-Cross was introduced in October this year in Thailand and the same is expected to come to India next year. The 2024 updated model gets major changes to the front fascia including a new 3-dimensional front grille, revised headlamps and tweaked bumper. In addition to this, a new set of alloy wheels and some rework at the rear is a part of the package. Inside the cabin, the D-Max facelift features an updated layout with new features such as ADAS, ventilated seats, powered driver’s seat and more. Under the hood, the familiar 1.9-litre turbo diesel engine putting out 163 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque will continue to power the pickup truck.

Mahindra Scorpio-N-Based Pickup Truck: Upcoming New Pickup Trucks In India
Mahindra will launch a new pickup truck in the Indian market in 2026. Based on the Global Pikup concept showcased last year, the upcoming Mahindra pickup truck will be based in the Scorpio N. It will likely be named the Scorpio-X and will rival the likes of the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross. It will share the major sheet metal with the Scorpio N along with the ladder frame underpinnings. It will be powered by the familiar 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel, mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Both 2WD and 4WD will be on offer.
