The new Hyundai Exter CNG will rival the likes of Tata Punch CNG which also gets dual-cylinder technology; The Exter CNG Duo comes at a starting price of Rs. 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) today launched the Exter CNG at a starting price of Rs. 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Exter has been a good seller for the company, and introducing the CNG version is a step forward in sustainable mobility. Dubbed ‘EXTER Hy-CNG Duo’, the CNG crossover comes with dual-cylinder technology, thereby leveraging a good amount of boot space. The Exter CNG goes up against the likes of Tata Punch CNG in the Indian market which also gets the dual-cylinder technology and comes at a starting price of Rs. 7.23 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Exter CNG Dual Cylinder: Price and Variants

The Hyundai Exter CNG is only available in the mid-spec S and top-spec SX trims. In addition to this, the recently introduced Knight Edition is also offered with the CNG-powered version.

Hyundai Exter CNG Technical Specifications

The Exter CNG is powered by the familiar 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine which supports Bi-Fuel now and in the CNG mode, it is tuned to produce 69 bhp and 92.2 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The fuel efficiency of the Hyundai Exter CNG stands at 27.1 km/kg.

Hyundai Exter CNG Dual Cylinder: The Easy-To-Use CNG Mechanism

Depending on the requirement, a dedicated CNG switch has been given to switch between petrol and CNG fuel. The CNG nozzle has been placed in the conventional fuel lid area, near the petrol filling plug, to help with fast and convenient CNG refuels.
