2025 Volkswagen Jetta Revealed: What’s Under The Hood?
As mentioned earlier, the powertrain remains the same. The familiar 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine powers the regular Jetta, putting out 158 horse and 184 pound-feet of peak torque. The setup is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, channelling power to the front wheels. The manual gearbox options of the S and Sports models have been given a miss for the year 2025.
On the other hand, the sporty Jetta GLI uses a 2.0-litre EA888 four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which is good enough for 228 HP and 258 pound-feet of peak torque. The front-wheel drive sedan continues to be offered with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Colloquially known as the “GTI with a trunk,” the sport-tuned Jetta GLI also features larger brakes, VAQ electronically-controlled torque-sensing limited-slip differential and XDS electronic differential lock, the DCC adaptive damping system, and a unique sport exhaust system.
2025 Volkswagen Jetta Revealed: Exterior and Interior Changes
The 2025 VW Jetta features a revised front fascia with new upper and lower grille designs and new sleeker LED headlights, as well as a connecting light bar (starting on Sport models). Towards the rear, a new trunk lid with a standard light bar connecting the taillights brings a touch of elegance and enhances the overall appeal. Wheel offerings include new 17-inch aluminium alloys for SE models and 18-inch alloys for SEL and GLI, along with new optional black-wheel packages for SE and GLI. Two new exterior colour options i.e. Monterey Blue Pearl and Monument Gray are also a part of the package.
Inside, the Jetta features a new dash design as well as new colours and decor across the range. A three-bar design across the upper dash flows through the air vents and directs the eye to the new focal point for the cabin which is the floating touchscreen infotainment system, which now boasts an 8-inch display as standard across all models.
