2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: What To Expect?
While the details about the upcoming Corvette are under wraps, a teaser shared by the company in June highlighted the powertrain and gave us a glimpse of its raw-sounding exhaust note. Under the hood, the 5.5 litre V8 from the Z06 will power the ZR1, however, it will gain from the addition of a twin-turbo setup and this engine will be referred to as LT7. For reference, the engine on the Z06 is an LT6 series.
The LT6 puts out 670 bhp in stock form and the addition of the twin turbos can easily take the power output to the rumoured mark of a whopping 850 bhp. The American sports car will have a rear-wheel-drive setup, channelling power through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
All these specs will ensure that the C8 ZR1 will be the most powerful Corvette ever made. The current CR7 ZR1 puts out 755 bhp from its 6.2 litre V8 motor.
2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: The Design
The design has always been a USP of the Corvette series and will continue with the 2025 ZR1. Going by the test mules, it appears that the C8-generation ZR1 will borrow some cues from the Z06, albeit with a wider body kit and enhanced air curtains for a better downforce. New air channels in the hood, prominent rear wing and side intakes on rear fenders will be a part of the package.
