The Fortuner is quite popular in the Indian market and we can’t undermine the fact that it is also pretty expensive for what it offers. The mild-hybrid version of the Fortuner has already debuted in some international markets and is expected to hit the Indian shores this year. It will be powered by the familiar 2.8 litre 1GD-FTV diesel engine, paired with a 48V mild hybrid system.
The mild-hybrid system will make the Fortuner slightly more efficient. It is expected to remain the same in terms of exterior design. Some new features like ADAS could be expected.
After a lot of speculations, the Prado could debut in the Indian market this year. While it was not present at the 2025 Auto Expo, there are chances that the Japanese carmaker could introduce it in the country. The latest generation model of the JC250 debuted in the year 2023 and it is also sold under the Land Cruiser 250 nameplate in some markets. The Land Cruiser Prado will be powered by the familiar 2.8-litre diesel engine in India. The SUV also gets a 2.4-litre petrol-strong hybrid engine in some markets. Toyota will sell the Land Cruiser in India via the CBU route.

Toyota showcased the Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport at the 2025 Auto Expo and it could be introduced in India by the end of this year or early 2025. This model is only available in a 5-seater configuration and will be sold in India via the CBU route. Over the standard model, it gets an Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS), Front and Rear Differential Locks, GR Sport badging on the grille, front doors and rear tailgate as well as 18-inch alloy wheels. Under the hood, the familiar 3.3 litre V6 turbo diesel engine powers the GR Sport, putting out 305 bhp and 700 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
