2025 Audi RS Q8: Performance Upgrade
The RS Q8 has always been positioned a notch below the Lamborghini Urus as both the performance SUVs share the same powertrain combination. However, with the 2025 Audi RS Q8, the power output from the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 has been bumped up by 40 bhp. While the numbers for other regular RS Q8 remain the same at 591 bhp and 800 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the new top-of-the-line RS Q8 Performance churns out 630 bhp of maximum power and 850 Nm of peak torque. The regular RS Q8 does a 100 kmph sprint in 3.8 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph, which can be increased to 280 km/h or a maximum of 305 km/h as an option. For reference, with the enhanced performance numbers, the RS Q8 Performance falls short of the non-hybrid 657 bhp Urus by just 26 bhp.
2025 Audi RS Q8: The Extras Under The Hood
The RS Q8 performance goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. The advanced eight-cylinder engine boasts more output than the RS Q8 production model. Moreover, it is the most powerful series-produced combustion engine in Audi Sport GmbH’s history. By reducing back pressure, the newly developed, lighter exhaust system increases the output of the RS Q8 performance while creating a sportier, more evocative sound. Optionally, the exhaust system can be replaced with the RS sport exhaust system, which further intensifies the sound experience and stands out with glossy black tailpipes.
2025 Audi RS Q8: Power Delivery
The torque distribution is done in a 40:60 ratio which means the power under normal conditions is more rear-biased. If slippage occurs, no more than 70% of the drive torque is applied to the front and up to 85% to the rear axle. This mode of operation results in more precise cornering, less understeer, and more exact turn-in.
2025 Audi RS Q8: The Design
Changes to the exterior styling remain minimalistic and seem to be inspired by the regular Q8. A new front apron with larger striking air intakes, a distinctive honeycomb structure, and a blade in high-gloss black (the RS Q8 performance features matte grey) are a part of the package. The rear section also plays a part in advancing the models’ position at the top of the range. The two oval tailpipes are the first distinguishing feature of an RS model. Audi Sport GmbH has placed a diffuser between them which is divided down the middle by a reflector. 22-inch wheels are offered as standard while the new 23-inch light-alloy wheels in a 6-Y spoke design and 295/35 tires can be opted as optional extras.
