Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has surprisingly given the Verna a very minor update for 2024. This move can be attributed to the sedan’s declining sales and lagging behind the segment best-seller Volkswagen Virtus. While not much has changed, the tweaks do give the sedan a fresh breath of air.

The new rear spoiler will be a part of the package across all the variants of the Verna. From the images, it appears more like an after-market unit and we don’t think it will appeal to buyers of every age group. However, it will be a good addition for the current owners of the Verna who are looking to add some sporty character to their sedan. It will most likely be made available as an accessory as well.
As for the new colour option is concerned, it is the Amazon Grey and now, Verna can be had with the option of eight monotone colours and you don’t need to pay anything extra for a dual-tone paint scheme.

Except for the base variant, prices of all other trims have been hiked by a marginal amount of Rs. 4,000. It is important to note that Hyundai is offering discounts of up to Rs. 70,000 on the Verna. This minor price hike seems more like a cost of the added rear spoiler.

The Hyundai Verna will continue to be powered by the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged tGDi petrol engine. These are mated to a 6-speed manual, a CVT gearbox for NA and a 7-speed DCT unit for the turbo petrol motor.
